Belly giggles!

About 2 weeks ago, our weekend was full of family time! Hudson was entertaining us all weekend long, and Kyle and I both just had so much fun! We were laughing at Hudson constantly, and Kyle and I both agreed that this was one of our favorite weekends with Hudson so far.

On Saturday, we relaxed around the house in the morning, getting some chores done and letting little man take a good nap. We then had Hudson's 3 month pictures with Bethany. Hudson was a little sleepy and would get super serious as soon as he saw the camera. He didn't want to cooperate for very long, but I think we were still able to get some good pictures! We went home for lunch and let Hudson take another nap before heading across the river to Bass Pro Shops for a life jacket for Hudson. While we were over in IN, we decided to eat at Rocky's - my favorite Italian place. The last time Kyle and I ate there was the night before Hudson was born! So crazy that it was 3 1/2 months ago! Hudson sat in his car seat the whole time and chewed on his Sophie giraffe toy and was just gabbing away. He was cooing and screaming happily to himself the whole time. He was so good!
Good boy at dinner - MUAH!
After dinner, we drove down the road to a small little park that looks out over the river with a view of the Louisville skyline. Hudson had slobbered all over his little polo, so we stripped him down to his little seersucker shorts and let him play on a blanket on the grass. It was a beautiful evening - the weather was perfect and there was a slight breeze blowing. He loves it outside, but hasn't been able to go out much recently with the crazy hot weather we've had. He had a big time watching the trees and looking around, and was just so happy. Why couldn't he cooperate like this at his photo shoot that morning?!? :) Here's a sneak peek from my phone, but I will do a separate post with the good ones that Kyle took soon!
Sunday, we let him get his morning nap in and then got ready to head to the boat with Kyle's family. He had been out once before on the boat for an evening cruise, but this was his first time going out during the day and attempting to get in the water. It's a law in KY that all kids under 12 have to wear a life vest on the boat, so we got him all zipped up. The thing was ridiculously big and uncomfortable looking on him, but he actually did really well. He kind of just sat there with a serious look and was a little unsure about everything while we road out to the cove, but he didn't cry at all. He also loved watching his big cousin Hadley - he is so enthralled with other kids! She seems to like him a lot too - a couple of weekends ago she called him "my baby Hudson cousin," but most of the time it's just "baby Hudson." So cute!
Making the most out of his life jacket - he even gave another kissy face!
Family! Love little Diva Hadley ;)
Once we parked in the cove, we took off his life jacket to get his swim gear on. He was super smiley and happy, and was moving his arms and legs around like crazy. He was probably excited to stretch out after having that life jacket on - ha! We put his life jacket back on and attempted to put him in the water. He lasted for all of about 2 minutes before having a melt down. I'm not sure if the water was too cold, or if he was just tired and freaked out. So I took him back under the canopy top on the boat and played with him until it was time to head back in. We were out there for a couple of hours, and while it was fun to try, I'm not sure we will be taking him out again until he's a little bigger.
I am having so much fun!
We got back home and played for about an hour on our bed with Hudson. He was being so funny - just talking, smiling and making all kinds of faces for the camera. Then I decided to blow raspberries on his little belly. I had done this before and he had smiled a little bit, but this time he full-on belly giggled! It was the cutest sound I'd ever heard! We didn't get the first part on video because we weren't expecting the reaction, but we were able to get a little bit of him laughing and screaming. So sweet!

We then headed over to Yaya and Papa Rick's for dinner, and also to wash our down comforter. Side story: Hudson decided to poop all over our duvet cover and comforter, as well as on a couple of different outfits that day. Fun times with baby boy - keeping us on our toes ;) Anyway, we had a great time hanging out with my family and watching Hudson do tummy time and "walk" around the living room. Yaya even watched Hudson for a little bit while Kyle and I took a nap in their guest room. Gotta love Grandmas!

Overall, we had such a great weekend! We didn't do anything super special, but it doesn't get much better than belly giggles and family time with our little man!
