Life As We Know It: First plane ride...a Trip to Arizona!

We hopped on a plane for the first time with Hudson and ditched the cold weather for sunny Arizona! My Dad (Papa) was generous enough to pay for a trip out to visit him and my Grandma (GiGi to Hudson) for a full week February 23rd - March 2nd. Thank you Papa!!

Hudson did great on both flights (we had a straight flight both ways). He had a few fussy moments, but nothing major. For the most part we were able to keep him entertained with toys and snacks, and he even took a good nap both ways. On the way home, we had an entire row to ourselves, and Hudson took full advantage. He was up and down and all around! But hey - whatever keeps him happy :) We received several compliments on how well he did for his first time flying. I was SO nervous leading up to the trip, but I have to say, it wasn't as bad as I had expected. It's definitely a whole different ball game traveling with a baby though. The stroller, diaper bag, bottles, food, toys, etc. - it's a lot more to carry on! Luckily my Dad had a car seat, pack-n-play and high chair out in Arizona waiting for us, so we didn't have to worry about those big items. Whew!

We had a wonderful time in Arizona relaxing, playing with Papa and Gigi (and Gigi's puppy Sophie - Hudson loved her!) and soaking up the beautiful weather. It was in the 60's the first few days, which felt like summer to us! We were wearing t-shirts and flip flops, while the locals were still bundled up in sweatshirts - ha! By the time we got to Friday, it was 80 and Hudson and I were swimming in the pool! It was a huge shock to come back to 30 degree temperatures here in KY.

It was a great week, and I'm so glad we were able to visit with my Dad - Hudson just loves him! I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Papa spoils him rotten ;) I'm also glad that my Gram was finally able to meet Hudson! She spoiled him rotten too! Thank you for a great week!
